Tessa Yingtao Zhong

Hello, I am Tessa, a photographer. Tessa is more of a stage name that most people know my work by. To my family and close friends, I am Tao / 濤, meaning “wave,” the one from the ocean. The name was given after a Feng Shui master noted that the water was missing from my five elements. My name also carries the character 穎 (Ying), associated with intelligence and clarity of mind, simply because my mom likes it.

Hailing from Guangdong, China, I have called Italy my home for the past decade. and recently moved to Paris.

Frequent movement across countries has shaped the way I see things. I am drawn to cross-cultural familiarity, humor in everyday life, and repetitive patterns of the mundane. Such language has led to collaborations with high-fashion brands, luxury hospitality and real estate groups, as well as leading publications.
